* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Guam, Rota, Saipan and Tinian. * WHEN...Through late tonight. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Typhoon Sinlaku is starting to move away from Tinian and Saipan to the northwest. rain bands south of Sinlaku will continue to bring periods of heavy rain across the islands. - Based on microwave satellite estimates and model guidance, additional rainfall of 10 to 18 inches is possible for Tinian and Saipan. A Typhoon Warning continues for Rota, Tinian, and Saipan. A Typhoon Warning continues for Alamagan, Pagan, and Agrihan. A Tropical Storm Warning and a Typhoon Watch continue for Guam. A Flood Watch is in effect for all of Guam and the CNMI. Please monitor forecasts for any Flood Advisories or Warnings that might be in effect for your area. At 2 PM ChST...the center of Typhoon Sinlaku (04W) was located near latitude 15.8N...longitude 145.0E. This was about 163 miles north of Guam. Storm motion was north-northwest, 350 degrees, at 3 mph. Storm intensity was 125 mph. .SITUATION OVERVIEW... The eye of Typhoon Sinlaku (04W) is moving slowly north-northwest and the outer edge of the eye wall has shifted northwest of Tinian and Saipan. Typhoon force winds are still expected through this afternoon, with strong tropical storm force winds expected tonight. Tropical storm force winds still extend across Rota and Guam, and will be slow to subside across the Marianas due to the size of the storm. Winds look to begin falling below tropical storm force for Guam late tonight, Rota around Thursday morning, and Tinian and Saipan Thursday evening or Thursday night. Typhoon Sinlaku will begin to pass through the northern CNMI just west of Alamagan, Pagan, and Agrihan tonight through Thursday night, forecasted to curve northeastward, passing north of Agrihan Friday.

* WHAT...For the Coastal Flood Warning, significant coastal flooding up to 4 feet. For the High Surf Warning, dangerously large breaking waves of 12 to 16 feet. * WHERE...South, west and north facing reefs and shorelines. * WHEN...For the Coastal Flood Warning, until 5 AM ChST Thursday. For the High Surf Warning, until 5 PM ChST Friday. * IMPACTS...Some roads may be closed. Low lying property including homes, businesses, and some critical infrastructure will be inundated. Some shoreline erosion will occur. Breaking waves can sweep people off jetties and docks, and into dangerous seas. Life- threatening swimming conditions and significant beach erosion can be expected. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...As TY Sinlaku continues to move away and wind driven waves decrease, the primary swell and highest surf will become southwest. Seas will be slow to subside over the next couple of days. A High Surf Advisory may continue through Friday night.
