Area creeks and streams are running high and could flood with more heavy rain. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - The Flood Watch remains in effect through Wednesday morning, as conditions remain favorable for excessive rainfall and flooding across the region. Since midnight, radar-estimated rainfall totals have reached around 4 to 5 inches across the southwestern interior of Puerto Rico and portions of the northern U.S. Virgin Islands. Secondary maxima of 2 to 3 inches have been observed across Vieques, Culebra, and portions of the southern interior and coastal plains of Puerto Rico. While the exact placement and timing of the heaviest rainfall has varied from earlier expectations, the overall forecast remains on track, with a moist and unstable pattern in place. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches per day, with locally higher totals, are expected to continue tonight into Tuesday.
